This sealant is neither acidic nor caustic, and contains no volatile organic compounds. Propylene glycol is very safe to handle but the use of appropriate PPE is recommended during installation. Wash with soap and water after handling the product. The product should not be swallowed.
This sealant contains eco-friendly propylene glycol which is environmentally friendly. These formulations do not contain either caustic or acidic materials. If there is a spillage, clean up using absorbent materials and wash down the area with water.

No. There is no reaction between the sealants and these materials.
No. Bike-Seal provides three way protection. Firstly, corrosion inhibitors in the formulations will protect the steel belting. Secondly, the plug formed by the sealant will keep water from penetrating through the hole in the tyre into the belting. Thirdly, by keeping the tyre inflated the normal pressure is maintained, which in turn prevents inward water seepage.
No. There will be no corrosion or rust. Aluminium rims are also protected.
Bike-Seal has an indefinite life span, and will not separate or solidify, because Bike-Seal is a mechanical and not a chemical process so there is no chemical breakdown.
No. in fact the tyre should be used at once. The more the vehicle is used, the better the plug will be. If you remove a puncturing object, we recommend that you immediately use the vehicle. Rotation of the tyres is important in the sealing process. The plug is mechanically formed; it is not a chemical reaction. The plug is formed within seconds and the puncture is sealed with almost no air loss. With Bike-Seal tyre sealant you may not even know you have had a puncture.
If a blockage occurs – don’t panic!
Remove the sleeve from the valve, and poke through with a contact cleaner /spray can straw. If you wish you can use also use a compressor to blow through.
When clear, re-sleeve the valve, invert the bottle, and continue squeezing the bottle until the correct quantity of product has been inserted.
Yes. It is most important that the recommended quantities are installed in the tyre to be treated. The recommended application rates will ensure the maximum benefit and give protection for the legal life of the tyre.
Installation is achieved via a commercial 20L pail, or self-insertion via a handheld bottle. Full instructions are given on the box / bottle.
- With valve at 5 or 7 o’ clock, remove valve core with tool provided, deflating tyre.
- Pull out telescopic tube and attach extension tube if required. (Motorbike will require extension tube).
- Slide delivery tube over the valve.
- With the bottle inverted, hold bottle so the tube and valve are as straight as possible and squeeze bottle.
- Continue squeezing Bike-Seal through the valve. This may take several goes, until the required amount has been delivered.
- Remove tube, clean spillage with damp cloth.
- Replace valve core with tool provided, finger tight.
Re-inflate tyre to manufacturer’s recommended pressures.
No. However, we do not wish to compete with cheaper products on the market, and neither do we need to with a proven, unrivalled track record world- wide. We are confident that Bike-Seal has the best technology, superior performance and effectiveness, with relative cost benefits, which give excellent value for money for the tyres of every vehicle which is treated. One application in the tyre will typically cost less than one puncture repair.
For the legal life of the tyre and beyond. Bike-Seal will not react with the rubber and other constituent materials in the tyre. Most importantly, the components of the sealant will not separate in use. Bike-Seal carries no expiration date either, so spare product can be stored indefinitely, and in larger applications can be re-used.

A plug is achieved by the interlocking aramid fibres and fillers creating a flexible plug in the tyre wound.
It can never be said a plug is permanent largely because it is solely dependent on the damage incurred and any damage can worsen over time.
The 20L pails use specially designed pumps which can install the product in partially deflated tyres. However with the bottle applications deflating the tyre is necessary.
Yes. It is possible but the main purpose is to stop punctures, therefore enhancing safety, although realistically for many reasons not every puncture can be prevented. Before treating the tyre it is necessary to have a source of compressed air such as a foot pump available to re-inflate the tyre to its correct pressure.
With Bike-Seal inserted, rotate wheel so punctured area is at 6 o’clock. In this way, the product will cover the inside of the puncture. Re-inflate tyre. During inflation, product will be forced into the puncture by increased pressure. When re-inflation is completed, the bike/vehicle should ideally be ridden for a short distance. This loads the tyres and increases the strength of the plug formed.

Yes in both types. It is up to 95% effective in tubeless and 75% in tubed tyres.
No. If the tyre is damaged beyond the ability of the sealant to plug the hole, the tyre can be plugged in the normal manner roadside. The commercial tyre repairer simply needs to wipe the area around the hole clean, and then wipe it with a water soaked rag. The tyre can then be repaired using normal methods. it is necessary to remove the remaining sealant, to re-balance the tyre/wheel. Once balanced Bike-Seal should be replaced either from a 20L pail or a bottle.

For road going vehicles it is essential that the wheels are correctly balanced prior to installation and the tyre re-inflated to manufacturer’s recommended pressures. Bike-Seal will not upset or alter balancing of a pre-balanced wheel/tyre, as long as recommended quantities are adhered to.
- Bike-Seal can stop up to 95% of punctures in the tread area from the usual causes. The biggest single benefit is safety. This is an “active” product, so prior installation will protect the user from catastrophic air loss, therefore enabling you to continue your journey safely.
- Slow air leaks are eliminated which means longer tyre life and lower fuel consumption, although the latter is minimal for Motorcycles.
- Most blowouts in cars, vans and HGVs are caused by excessive heat build up in the tyre almost always caused by under inflation. Slow air leaks increase this risk but are prevented if our tyre sealants are used.
- Equally important is the fact that Bike-Seal is homogeneous, and will not separate at any speed or when the vehicle is stationary.
Bike-Seal is TPMS compatible in most cases and should not affect this system.
Most TPMS are electronic sensors as opposed to a pressure valve, therefore gas does not enter a pressure system. Most work on tyre circumference and rotation. When gas is lost due to a puncture, the circumference of the tyre is reduced, therefore the rotation speed increases. It is this difference that is picked up within the ECU which is programmed to convert to a pressure reading. Further, due to rotational forces, the product will be forced away from the wheel.
The two most common failings with TPMS are “Radio Waves” which interfere with the signal, and batteries within each unit. Some ‘after market ‘ and older systems rely on ‘pressure’ as they attach to the valve. Bike-Seal is not recommended for these systems as there is a possibility of our product blocking the unit.
As a “golden rule”, if you can pass a spray can straw through your valve with the core removed, then the valve is suitable.
Some right angled valves can be problematic to self-install with a Bottle. This is because the internal bore of the valve is sometimes reduced and therefore restricts insertion, and repeated blockages may occur when installing. If the bend is not tight and you can see, ovality is not compromised, self-insertion should be straightforward. If the valve angle is tight or you are unsure, we recommend dealer installation via a pump.
